And just like that, we are now looking towards Christmas. The holidays come and go so quickly and if you're like my family, we try to plan for events and experiences more than just things or gifts. With that in mind, here are some of our favorite events happening this next month in and around Columbus Ohio.
Wild lights at the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium – from November 18 through January 6 is the zoo lights. Admission is just $20 and discounts for children and seniors. If you've never experienced Columbus zoo lights, you'll have to check it out. It's a one of a kind event and it really gets you into the holiday spirit.
Easton holiday carriage rides – from November 16 through December 23 on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays in the Easton Town Center, you can hop on board a horse-drawn carriage and travel through the city enjoying the lights and the scenery of the season.
Dragon lights – from November 23 through January 6 from 5:30 PM to 10 PM every day at the Ohio Expo Center is a celebration of Chinese culture with 39 illuminated displays by Chinese artists. Tickets are just $12-$17 and this is a very unique event.
Butch Brando's fantasy of lights – November 16 through January 1 at the Alum Creek light display and Santa house. Stay in your car, stay cozy, or enjoy free cookies and cocoa at the Santa house as you browse the amazing light display.
Holiday wine tastings at Meza – every Friday from 6:30 PM to 10 PM for just $10 enjoy holiday events, holiday wines, and a great adult event.
Huntington holiday train – located at the main library from November 18 to January 2. This unique train features tracks, tunnels, bridges, and replicas of historic German homes and castles.
Gahanna's annual holiday light display. Their gingerbread house contest will accept entries through December 19. It is an amazing event where you can get ideas, inspiration, or just enjoy someone else's art.
The Columbus Commons holiday lights – November 21 to January 2. Enjoy over 300,000 LED lights as they dazzle Columbus Commons Park.
Holiday open farm at Harrison Farms – November 17 through December 22 on Saturdays from 1 PM to 5 PM. Shop farm products, enjoy the lights, and get something for those hard to buy for people on your list.
12 elves of Dublin scavenger hunt – December 1 through December 29 you can pick up 12 elves car to one of the downtown locations and search the Shoppes of historic Dublin defined 12 different elves. Collect them all and return your completed car before the 29th to be entered to win one of the three grand prizes.
Balletmet Nutcracker at the Ohio theater December 7 to the 23rd. Tickets start at just $29.
